Dr. Shoo Lee stands tall in the world of neonatology and among the tiny infants who are his patients. Wooed to Mount Sinai from Alberta last fall, Dr. Lee is Mount Sinai’s new Paediatrician-in-Chief and Head, Division of Neonatology, at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Lee chose Mount Sinai because of its strong commitment to clinical, research and teaching excellence and its forward-thinking culture. “It is an exciting opportunity to work and research,” he says.

Dr. Lee received his medical degree from the University of Singapore, completed paediatric training in Newfoundland and his neonatal fellowship training at Children’s Hospital in Boston. He received his PhD in Health Policy (Economics) from Harvard University.

Dr. Lee is the founder of the Canadian Neonatal Network, which now includes 27 hospitals and 16 universities in the country that collaborate on neonatal care research. He is also involved in international collaborations that include 200 hospitals across Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
