Foundation letter from leadership - Events

The 14th Annual Mount Sinai Hospital Classic Golf Tournament brought the event’s cumulative total raised to $2.2. million in support of Leadership Sinai’s pledge to its Fund for Excellence in Research. A new endeavour by our Events team was Sinai Speaks, a lecture series which gained great momentum – and audiences! – with savvy online marketing promotion. The second annual Hold ‘Em for Life Charity Challenge poker tournament is a sterling example of third-party event success: in just two years, this event has generated more than $1.7 million, a portion of which supports Leadership Sinai’s commitment to cancer research.

A grand event was held in November when “Our Shining Stars” celebrated Mount Sinai’s 85th birthday. Donors who have been recognized with stars on our lobby wall were invited to join in the festivities. This year we were also pleased to recognize Phillip and Peggy DeZwirek’s gift to a critical area – our highest priorities. The DeZwirek’s donation of $1.2 million enables the Hospital to maintain its exceptional standards of excellence and its preparedness to meet the challenges of public health issues such as SARS and H1N1.
