Mount Sinai Hospital is dedicated to delivering excellence in patient and family-centred care, research and education. We have made excellence a part of who we are and what we do, every day.

As one of Canada’s pre-eminent patient care, research and academic health science centres and one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers, Mount Sinai has a well-earned reputation for excellence in the community and also beyond our borders.

We focus on three broad organizational goals:

  • Patient and family-centred care
  • Increasing our role as an academic health sciences centre and teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto
  • Enhancing our community health partnerships

Our Centres of Excellence include:

  • The Lawrence and Frances Bloomberg Centre for Women’s and Infants’ Health
  • The Christopher Sharp Centre for Surgery and Oncology
  • The Centre for Acute and Chronic Medicine
  • The Centre for Laboratory Medicine and Infection Control
  • The Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute

During our 85-year history, we have grown from a 33-bed maternity and convalescent hospital into an internationally renowned 472-bed academic health sciences centre. We remain focused on excellence, and we continue to provide our patients with exceptional and compassionate care.
