Mount Sinai is the hospital that philanthropy built. We owe our very existence to a group of passionate volunteers who raised $12,000, much of it in nickels and dimes, to open the Hebrew Maternity and Convalescent Hospital on Yorkville Avenue in 1923.

Our name and location have changed, but philanthropic support remains central to our status as a world-class healthcare institution.
The Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation raises and stewards funds to support the exceptional care, world-leading research and innovative education at the Hospital. We develop long-term, collaborative relationships across our community.

The generous support of our donors fuels everything we do, from hospital initiatives, to compassionate care, to scientific discovery. Every Donation Counts toward improving the quality of life of our patients.
